Was God A Volcano?

Here's my comment:
"That's pretty funny, but it sounds about right! A bunch of primitive desert nomads wander to an erupting volcano, and they're amazed by it. One of them goes up to it to investigate. Because he doesn't die from the burning ash, the flying chunks of rock, bursts of lava, breathing in any of the poisonous gases that volcanoes have in their clouds (carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and methane), or asphyxiation, he goes back to his tribesmen and thinks it's a god.
